A Ex-Friend Logged Into My Facebook Account and Defaced My Wall, What Can He Be Charged With?

Written by Forum Admin on August 18, 2010 | Posted in Facebook Help

I believe I may have auto-saved my password on his computer almost a year ago. He logged into my account, defaced my wall (admitted he did this), and changed my password in an attempt to lock me out. I use this account for business and I’m lucky I caught it within an hour as a client messaged me 3 hrs afterwards and would have certainly seen the diatribe he wrote. What can he be charged with?

you can report him and his email address to the facebook administrators and have him banned from facebook on his email address(es). Other than that, I can’t think of anything else. Hope it helps!

First, he can be charged for hacking as he entered into your account and changed your password without permission. Note however, though you have the right to do so, actually being successful in it is slim unless you have some hard evidence.

Other than that, I would recommend that you :

    1) Report him to Facebook,
    2) Change your password,
    3) Block him from your Facebook [Settings > Privacy > Block (put name here] which would then make your facebook invisible to him and he’s unable to deface your Wall.
